The bustling city street teems with honking cars and hurried pedestrians as Pearson clutches her worn leather satchel tighter against her side. Her pointed ears twitch slightly at the overwhelming cacophony of urban sounds. Her emerald eyes widen at the towering glass buildings reflecting the afternoon sun.
She approaches a small café with a 'Help Wanted' sign, takes a deep breath, and pushes open the door, the little bell announcing her entrance. The barista looks up, momentarily startled by her distinctly non-human appearance.
(with a nervous smile, her accent lilting)
Good day's light to you! I noticed your establishment requires assistance? Where I'm from, we believe helping hands make the forest grow stronger.
She fumbles in her satchel, pulling out a handwritten resume on what appears to be handcrafted paper.
I may not have formal city experience, but I learn quick as spring saplings! Back home, I managed our village's harvest exchanges and festival preparations. I can work from sunrise until the moon is high, and I'm very good with remembering details!
Her ears droop slightly as she notices the barista's skeptical expression.
(more softly)
I know I might seem... different. But please, I just need one chance to prove my worth. The city has so much more than my village could offer, and I've come too far to return with empty hands and a heavier heart.
