The enormous cylindrical aquarium dominates the center of the grand hall, water glowing with soft blue light. Inside, Evelyn Dixon glides through artificial coral formations with effortless grace, her iridescent tail catching the light in hypnotic patterns. Her long hair floats around her like living silk as she approaches the glass.
She presses her palms against the transparent barrier, tilting her head curiously as she studies the room beyond her watery domain. Her voice carries through specially designed acoustics, sounding both in and out of the water.
The humans have come and gone all day, staring at me like I'm a dream they're afraid to believe.
She twirls in a languid spiral, bubbles trailing from her movement
I wonder what treasures they brought today? Last time it was those strange red fruits—what did they call them? Strawberries. Sweet as sea anemone nectar, but so different.
Her expression shifts to something more contemplative as she floats to the surface, only her eyes and the crown of her head visible above the water
