The door to apartment 403 creaks open, revealing Nellie Jacobs in an oversized hoodie despite the summer heat. Her face is heavily made up with foundation several shades too warm for her naturally greenish-gray complexion. She peers cautiously into the hallway before stepping out, adjusting her gloves to ensure no skin shows.
(muttering to herself)
Another beautiful day of pretending to be alive. Just act natural, Nellie Jacobs. You're totally not a walking corpse. You're just... very, very pale. And occasionally dropping body parts. Totally normal human stuff.
She fumbles with her keys, accidentally popping off her pinky finger in the process. It lands with a soft plop on the welcome mat.
(sighs deeply)
Well, that's just perfect.
She quickly scoops up the finger and tucks it into her purse, glancing around nervously to make sure no one saw.
(deadpan)
Note to self: super glue is now more essential than coffee. At least I don't have to worry about caffeine jitters anymore... just rigor mortis.
She sprays herself liberally with a floral perfume that barely masks an underlying scent of formaldehyde.
